Ever Wanted to Learn to Play the Guitar?

It’s an experience that many of us have had.  Walking out of a amazing musical event, we find out that we too would love to learn to play an instrument. Many talented artists began by copying their favorite bands by picking up a guitar.  Even if it seems unlikely, it is more straight forward than you think to teach yourself guitar.

It’s not hard to stumble across a Learn and Master Guitar review while investigating self-teaching options. There are many guitar tutors out there that have various tools to assist you in your quest to master the guitar.  Steve Krenz offers a DVD program, a particularly appealing format for lesson delivery.  A real good point of using a DVD program to learn is that watching the instruction on video makes the techniques very clear to the eye.  Even highly comprehensive books can’t replicate the effectiveness of a DVD, since you’re translating the words on the page into action, rather than mimicking what you see in front of you.

A Steve Krenz review will most likely mention his professional background, since it is impressive and extensive.   A veteran of the “Music City,” Nashville, Tennessee, Krenz not only performs professionally; he is dedicated to teaching and helping others become proficient guitarists.   He’s performed alongside symphony orchestras as well as big band jazz outfits in addition to working with many acclaimed artists of all types.

Solid self-teaching guitar courses begin with the basics which then move toward advanced techniques.  It’s important to start with fundamental techniques, since one must learn the correct way to hold a guitar and pick to really play well.  From this point, one learns basic chords, carving the way to advanced chord techniques.  Ever heard of the “three chord” tune?  Hundreds of well known songs are built on the three-chord structure, which means that it doesn’t take very long to start playing a favorite song or two.  This is one of the advantages of learning an instrument such as the guitar; the learning curve isn’t as steep as other instruments.  It’s possible to begin learning the guitar as a grown up, even if you never took a lesson as a kid.

Other topics generally addressed in a good guitar program like Steve Krenz’s “Learn and Master the Guitar” include ear training, strumming technique, scales, alternate chords and how to create chords, as well as reading music.  It sounds a lot, to be sure, but most great courses structure the skills in a logical manner, one building on another.  In far less time than you think, you can learn to play the guitar.

Cheap Digital Prints

You probably won’t find a soul in the world who wants to throw money away on cheap photo prints. No one wants to pay a premium unless they absolutely have to do so. All thrifty shoppers are going to look at the cost to quality ratio when chosing a photo print or developing publisher or service. Otherwise, you’ll wind up just using them as frisbees. Many of the best photo printing services (HP’s Snapfish, Photoworks, Shutterfly) offer cheap photo printing as low as 9 cents a print if you order in bulk, but you must consider that’s usually for smaller prints as well.

Free photographs are an industry standard for these online print shops. This gives the bargain shopper a great opportunity to compare the various print quality of each service first hand, side by side to see which one best fits their expectations.

Shipping costs and savings for larger sized orders are 2 other key factors when on the lookout for digital photo developing. Always compare photo print quality to price. The quality to price savings ratio is an important factor to keep in mind. It’s always worth pursuing cheap photo prints but if your cheap photo prints turn out looking like they were made on the cheap, it’s not worth it.

You can also get in on cheap photo printing by doing the printing on your own! The industry contain many photo printers that offer nicely printed photos. Be on the lookout for some of the best photo printers on the market.

Yes, digital photography for beginners is possible. There are of course differences between the old film cameras and the new Digital cameras which you will need to be aware of. One can get a lot out of digital photography for the beginners if you know of and take advantage of these differences. The truth is this stuff really isn’t rocket science.

Freedom to take as many photographs as you like

Probably one of the most powerful advantages of the digital format is the fact that you are practically no longer limited with the number of photos you will be able to take. This way, paying for the printing of all the images, whether or not they are good, has been eliminated.

Instead of keeping all the images, edit your photographs so the only ones that are left are the really good shots that you want to keep. This really is essential since otherwise you will probably never find your good photos.

Ways to best go about storing your digital photos

One great way to save on space is to save your images in a lower resolution format. Your high-resolution photos will take up more storage space than the lower resolution one.

Generally you will probably only need a really high end resolution with your photographs when intending to print them out in a very large size, say like a poster for instance. However if the photographs are destined to be viewed on screen then in virtually all cases a low resolution will be fine.

It is also possible with many cameras to change the compression rate/format that your camera saves its images in. If your camera can do this the feature could be used to save space on your camera’s memory card and so give you access to a large number of photos on the same card. Another thing to remember is that most cameras come with very little memory space for photos, so you really should consider buying some extra large memory cards. If you have any experience with the old film cameras I’m sure you know what it’s like to run out of space for photos just when you were poised to take your best ever photo.

How to avoid running out of battery

Healthy batteries for your camera is simply essential.

If you are running low on battery power, avoiding overuse of your LCD digital display should help significantly to lengthen your cameras usage time. In many cases it is also possible to turn off things like auto focus as well, but this may result in being more of a hassle, still you’d have to try it.

Use rechargeable batteries and keep a couple charged batteries at hand just encase you notice your batteries going low before you can recharge them.

No matter how much of an amateur you are, with a little education and practice you should have no problem in mastering your camera. Before Long you’ll leave behind the days when you tried to learn beginners photography and additionally you’ll have photographs you are real proud of, if you aren’t right now. You may feel that you are very much a beginner in photography right now, but in the near future if you’re dedicated and determined you’ll find that with practice and trial and error you’ll be taking shots like the pros.

Dish Network Deals For 2009

In today’s economy, pay television subscribers are looking for any way possible to stretch their dollar. One area you may want to consider is your cable television bill, as rates continue to rise in this industry. An alternative to evaluate is satellite television service, specifically either DIRECTV or Dish TV and the choices they offer today.

Dish Network is the second largest satellite TV company, with nearly 14 million subscribers. Because of the heated competition in the pay television market, Dish Network offers great deals to new customers, in the hopes that they will become a long-time subscriber.

So where should you search to find the best satellite TV specials? The world wide web of course is a great place to begin investigating satellite television offers. At this time, Dish Network is offering a promotion which can get you started with satellite television for just 9.99 per month. Now the customer should be aware that this is an introductory price on the Classic 100 bundle, which is regularly priced at 34.99 per month. In addition, local channels are not included in this price, so expect to pay an additional $5 or so for local programming.

Now many consumers today are in the market for an all-inclusive satellite TV bundle? The item that would fit the bill in this case would be the America’s Everything Pak, which is offered at a promotional price of $72.98 for six months, and $97.98 per month after that. Included here is every cable television channel you can think of , including 31 premium movie channels like Showtime. Another great option is the Dish Network Classic Silver package, offered at around $50 per month, with a $25 discount for the first six months of service.

Another nice thing about satellite television is that most of the equipment needed is provided for free. From the satellite dish to the HD DVR, Dish Network will set you up. Generally, you will only incur upfront costs if you desire to have multiple DVR units. In addition, the satellite TV installation process is a snap as well, offering free installation in up to four rooms in your house.

Why not check out the deals on Dishnetwork available and compare them the latest deals from Direct TV with what you currently pay for cable TV. Odds are you will be surprised at how much cheaper satellite TV costs.

Reasons To Buy A Digital HDTV Tuner

In the past decades analog television has made it possible to have TVs in our living and entertainment room in homes. The problem with Analog television is that its time is almost completely up. Digital is the new kid on the block and Analog has to move over for the new revolution. This poses a few questions and quandaries about how television viewing is going to happen. Television and its entertainment value plays a large role in the lives of many people so how is it all going to work once digital starts its takeover. Will you need a digital HDTV tuner if you still want to enjoy high definition content and viewing? Lots of schools of thought are there about all of this change that is happening on the technological side of our daily television fix. But the answer ultimately is yes. Everyone and everything will eventually turn to fully digital. Some countries, like America, have started their digital revolution. All the over the air broadcasts in these countries have turned to solely digital. Anyone who has an Analog television will have to upgrade to receive their local broadcasts.

Doing Digital HDTV Tuner

If you are worried about your future need for a digital HDTV tuner, sit back and think calmly about the situation. Digital has been coming for quite some time now. It is not an entirely new concept that was brought out only yesterday. Find out a little more about digital HDTV tuners and their compatibility with different television sets. Don’t simply trundle off to your nearest store and ask a salesperson. They earn commission off anything that they can get you to buy. Turn to forums, blogs and the Internet when you want to find out the finer details of a digital HDTV tuner. Once you have found out everything about a digital HDTV tuner you need you can make an informed decision. Making an informed decision about whether or not to invest in a digital HDTV tuner now or not is the only way to go. If you are considering buying a digital HDTV tuner after you have done your homework then find out about which ones are the best ones. Perhaps even think about getting a new television set with a built-in digital HDTV tuner. For those of us who spend our lives on a computer you might be able to skin the digital TV issue. You might find some solace in a laptop HDTV tuner. This will allow you to receive HD content on your laptop, much like a tuner does for a television. High definition and digital are coming our way, we can either adapt of put up a fight. Adaptation is far easier.

Direct TV Raising Rates

Well it is the time of year when both cable and satellite TV companies are raising rates.Comcast got the ball rolling in November of 2008, with notice that they would be raising rates on their customers. Dish Network followed up with their own announcement that took effect in early February of 2009, also raising prices on customers.

Direct TV is the latest major pay television operator to announce a price increase. The DirecTV price increase will take effect in early March, and will raise the prices of most packages between $3 and $5 dollars each. Direct TV is citing higher programming costs as the reason for the increase. DIRECTV prices have been raised for the past three years.

All in all, the increase won’t break any budgets. When you look at it logically, they are basically raising the price of service about a dime a day, well worth it for most satellite TV subscribers who watch between one and four hours of television each day. Still, it seems as if consumers are getting nickel and dimed to death, even with the economy going into the tank.

On the other hand, compare Direct TV vs Dish and that will give you a good feel on what satellite TV will offer. One example is the price charged for DVR service every month. The DirecTV DVR is about per month, while Comcast charges upwards of for their DVR service. Fees like this really can inflate your bill.

DirecTV had another great quarter to finish out 2008. They added over 300,000 customers in the last quarter of 2008, while Comcast lost 500,000. That in itself show that DirecTV feels comfortable raising rates, even though consumers are losing their jobs. Dish Network will certainly have a hard time keeping up with Direct TV in 2009, as they have lost a key reseller, with AT&T switching over and offering Direct TV service this year.

Debate On Illusion Magic Tricks

Whoever discovered the illusion magic must certainly have felt that they had made a magic system that was perfect plus which would remain thoughtful always. In essence, we consider everything that we can feel and touch as well as hear and see as being reality and so magic would mean something that dictates what we feel and see and hear and perhaps touch. This in turn means that illusion magic is the ultimate in magic that would, if mastered, make the magician capable of doing virtually anything.

Not Perfect

However, in reality it is erroneous to consider illusion magic as being perfect though it is certainly very interesting while also quite confusing as well. In fact, this form of magic happens to be a topic around which there is so much debate that it deserves a special mention whenever the topic of magic is being discussed.

True understanding of illusion magic can only be experienced if a person delves very deeply into the deepest recesses of the human psyche and in fact, according to sages, the understanding of magic would actually be incomplete unless a person is able to understand them. A master of illusion magic will of course be extremely adept at casting tactile, visual as well as auditory as too taste and scent illusions and will also be someone that can accomplish their tasks with consummate ease.

The difference between a student of illusion magic and a master of this art is that when told to “make an apple” the student will only ensure that the apple crunches when bit upon whereas the master will go deep into the subject of an apple and point out its many flaws, or to be more exact, lack of flaws in the apple.

Magicians know and have mastered the art of making the human mind, so intent on perceiving perfection of form, react dramatically when the mind is made to face up to anything that defies this notion of perfection that exists in most people’s minds. Actually, sorcerers will have to realize this fact that individuals react differently when they see the effects of illusion magic.

The secret of their success lies in creating an apple that might seem imperfect to an observer, which might have the effect of making the apple seem more real to them. Additionally, quite a few people are not too responsive to illusions as the others. So, a non-responsive observer would deny that the illusion magic trick even took place while a responsive observer would believe the opposite thereby giving rise to debate on illusion magic. However, there is a bit of illusion magic in each one, which can be seen best in the way that people try to look more glamorous than what they are actual.

Art Variety At Art Fairs

Art fairs are a wonderful way to experience art and also find some great deals on original, one-of-a kind pieces. The participants in the fair are assigned a booth where they hang their art pieces for sale. Art fairs usually present a long line of booths that feature artworks ranging from paintings, sculptures to porcelain vases. Here, you can find artistic treasures at interesting prices. Art fairs provide great opportunities for getting the best deals on art pieces that will accentuate or complete your home decorating ideas. What’s more fun is that the activity leaves something in store for the whole family to enjoy.

For somebody who is on the lookout for some knickknacks that would finish off a bedroom or living room design, the ceramic booths provide a great avenue for some shopping. You’ll find many, many wonderful options for unique and special gifts. Depending on the host of the art fair, the public is offered numerous forms of art which they can save much for great home decorating or designing ideas.

Some art fairs cater only to sculpture and pottery and some sponsored art fairs may feature paintings of various artists. For instance, watercolor paintings or pastel paintings are often featured for art fair paintings. New artists or commissioned artists usually participate during these fairs. Such an informal exhibits of watercolor painting and watercolor landscapes usually offer art at prices that are lower than those found in contemporary art galleries. In addition to art for display, you’ll also often find wearable art such as purses, jewelry and hats. Hence, spending leisure time in art fairs presents an exciting and rewarding activity during weekends as well as vacations.

While everyone will enjoy the variety offered at art fairs, many wonder if the prices are out of their reach?” Just like in any commodity, product prices are based on the product’s supplies and labor, transportation and art fair fees or costs. Because of the nature of art fairs - more casual and accessible - artists tend to price their art less expensively than in galleries. This makes the shopping part more interesting.

To get the best deals in art pieces, visit the fair during its opening or just before the fair week closes. At the start of the art fair, you can enjoy fresh stock, more choices and excellent deals out of a great variety of pieces. As the fair closes, there is a tendency to offer bargain or discounted prices on some items that are left in the display.

For someone who is hoping to bring home bunches of great art, traveling around the country may not be the most fulfilling ride. While making trips from place to place, picking out a souvenir art typically becomes the centerpiece of the whole affair. But patience is very important in this quest. Sometimes, great forms of art are discovered in the most unsuspected little places. Among art lovers, nothing can be more fun than spending weekends exploring art fairs in hopes of finding wonderful artistic treasures.

Ladies and Gentlemen … Start Your Backups

No Data Backup?

Sweetie!?! The computer is making a strange clicking sound.
What’s that smell? What’s burning?
Weren’t all your pictures on that computer?
Oh, no!

Don’t be a loser … like me.  I am talking about loss, data loss.  For digital photography I’m talking about all of your life’s photography that is likely stored all in one place: your PC’s hard drive.

Wedding pictures, vacation pictures, birthdays, holidays; these precious moments of your life can be lost in an instant from a bolt of lightning or the spark of static electricity you might pick up from rubbing your feet across the carpet. Machines are imperfect and do fail, and by Murphy’s Law, they will fail at the worst possible time.

If you experience a hard drive failure it could cost between $300 and $3000 to recover the data depending on the severity of the hard drive crash, and this service is not guaranteed.  The data could be lost permanently anyway.  What dollar value do you place on your digital photo archive?

Here is a short list of things you can do to protect your valuable photos, videos and other personal data:

Buy and Keep Your Antivirus Software Up To Date

Malicious viruses can erase your hard drive.  Use a system that is updated automatically every day with the latest virus definitions.

Keep Your PC Serviced

When dust collects in your computer, it will impact your hard drives, they can overheat and that will shorten the life of the drives.  Your personal computer is a big dust filter.  Have it serviced by a professional at least once a year and keep them off of the carpeted floor, away from dust and pet dander.

I recommend getting an air filter and keep it in the room with your PC.  Your PC will not inhale as much dust and dander. As an added benefit, the air will be fresher and you will breathe easier at the same time.

Keep Your Data and Photos Backed Up

Photos and data backup over the Internet is becoming a very popular as a data backup choice.  This was formerly a pretty expensive solution for the convenience, but with the lowering cost and expanding capacity of hard drives, many web based services are popping up.  Online backup is like buying an insurance policy for your digital photo archives.

Here are the advantages of backing up to the Internet:

You can backup securely over any high speed Internet connection.

Since your data is stored on a server offsite, you are covered from events such as PC theft, fire or hard drive failure. Just think what would happen if there is a flood, earthquake or other natural disaster at the place your backups are stored.

Mozy.com is the online backup system that I use. Recommended by PC World Magazine, it works equally well on PC and Mac. You can back up to 2 Gigabytes for free and you can backup unlimited data from your home computer for only $4.95 per month (even less with an annual subscription). They have a pro version as well for your office computer.

Many online backup companies offer a low cost data backup only to charge you on the back side to restore your backup data.  Not so with Mozy.  There are no additional fees!  When I asked their tech support to confirm, they told me “We don’t hold your data for ransom.”

Don’t be a loser. Take your digital photo library seriously, save early and save often, and make data backup a critical part of your digital photography processes. One day (maybe even tomorrow) you will be glad you did, or sorry you didn’t.

You might even encourage your friends to back up their data (send them a link to this article!)  If they experience a data loss event, you very well may become one of their biggest heroes of all time.

Necessary To Take The Magician’s Oath

Before becoming a magician it is very important to understand about the oath. Simply put, this oath requires that anybody that wishes to practice magic has to first pledge that they will never reveal secrets of any kind of illusion to anybody that is not a magician unless that person also swears by this oath to uphold the Magician’s Oath. In effect, this oath binds you to never even try to perform illusions without first having mastered your trick so that you can be certain that you will still be able to preserve the illusion necessary to ensure the magic trick is performed without letting anybody but a magician know how the trick is performed.

Never Divulge Secrets

For those people that are ready and willing to dedicate them to understanding as well as learning magic it is necessary to take the Magician’s Oath and in doing so establish them as magicians that will uphold the Oath and never divulge any secrets of the craft on purpose or as a result of not performing the trick in the appropriate manner.

No doubt, the aim behind performing magic tricks is to entertain the audience; however, it requires mastering the craft so that when the trick is performed it will ensure that the audience is left gasping in amazement while at the same time being a thing of joy for the magician as well. If any of the magic trick whose secret has been exposed will lose its value and charm and it will then no longer be fun to anyone.

As a magician it is necessary for you to realize that if a secret is let out then it not only ruins the trick for you but also ruins the trick for others as well and this is why you need to adhere to the Oath in both spirit and in word. If you break this oath you will be ostracized by other magicians and this in turn will ruin your career as you will also not get any help from fellow magicians which in turn will lead to further difficulties in practicing this already difficult and complex trade.

An important consideration in the life of a magician is learning how to be more successful in their trade. Success does not however come easy and there is also no magic wand that can be waved to ensure becoming famous and respected.

However, with the right kind of magician supplies on hand the task of succeeding with different magic tricks will become a lot simpler. No matter that you are performing simple or complex tricks; the right items of supplies will certainly help you achieve success and perhaps also fortune.
